Mountain River Family Campground
Newland, NC
Mountain River sits directly on US-19E about eight miles east of Spruce Pine, with thirteen hundred yards of North Toe River running along it. Every site is full hookup and almost all of them take a forty-foot rig. The river is the draw – trout fishing, swimming and tubing, with tubes for rent – and there is a private catch-and-release pond, a playground, hammocks and a riverside picnic area besides. Linville Falls is eleven minutes away, Linville Caverns seventeen, Grandfather Mountain twenty-three. Tripadvisor has it at 4.9 across about 151 reviews. It is a seasonal operation, April to October, and the property is still rebuilding after Hurricane Helene.
