Chimney Rock Pioneer Crossing
Bayard, NE
Chimney Rock Pioneer Crossing is a small RV park on the open Nebraska prairie with a view straight across a pond to Chimney Rock, the landmark every Oregon Trail wagon train steered by. All 16 sites are full-hookup pull-throughs with 30 or 50 amp. You check in at Settlers Trading Post, which doubles as the gift shop and ice cream counter. The Chimney Rock Museum is just down the road, and Scotts Bluff National Monument, Courthouse and Jail Rocks and the Riverside Discovery Center zoo make easy day trips.
